I hear wedding bells!

I am so excited! My cousin Brittney is getting married and I had the privilege of doing her wedding invites. She has awesome taste and chose a black and white design and a gorgeous sea green color.

I think they turned out really nice. She had shown me a photo of this design (sorry to the originator, I do not know your information) with the pockets for the reply card and a registry information on the side. It was very easy to put together. It is a tri-fold design and just tied together with a bow. I added these cute little flowers to give it a little something extra.

June Stamp Of The Month Blog Hop

NO PHONE ZONE

Well, I am a big Oprah fan and I have been taking a very close observation of the driving cars around me ever since she started the "NO PHONE ZONE". It is amazing how many people text and talk on the phone while driving. It is also pretty amazing how many of those people that you see that are talking or texting are the ones that are veering into the next lane, are sitting at the light not realizing that it has turned green, missing that stop sign, etc. I will admit I was once one of the guilty ones. I am a busy mom who needs every extra minute to get all the things done I am responsible for as many of us are. BUT that is not an excuse.

Please check out Oprah's website and do a little reading up. April 30th is National No Phone Zone Day and wouldn't it be awesome if we could add to the numbers that have already taken the No Phone Zone Pledge?

I want to know your best organizational tip for all of us crafters! Being a crafter means having TONS of stuff, little and big, that all need a place. What tip can you pass on that has worked for you in organizing all your gear? Post here by midnight (mountain standard time) to get your name entered into a drawing to win a special prize. My tip is for those pics that you know you have the perfect items in mind that you want to scrap with for those pics, but can't get to those pictures yet. I put the pictures and all items (paper, ribbon, etc.) that I want to use with those photos in a page protector. I have several of these going and that way when I have a chance I can just pull out the page protector and get started.

I personally love soooo many products, but my absolute favorite is the My Creations 3-Ring Binder. It has so many uses. You can create small themed albums, baby books, recipe books, etc. They are the perfect size to complete in a weekend, but are so versatile that you can really go above and beyond your basic mini album.

My picture is of this present topper that I got to add to my cousin's graduation gift. Graduation is on the mind here at my house! Are you a single page or double page scrapbooker? I used to think only double pages for me. I really like the uniformity of the 2 pages together when you are flipping through your album. But I have dabbled just a little in the idea of single pages. I completed one and am working on another and I am liking it. I still think of myself as a double page scrapper though.

Okay, so as you can see, I did not get the 2-part challenge done. My sister is in town and I got side-tracked while visiting with her. I will keep working on it though and post when I complete my clean up efforts.

Today challenge is to tell me your scrapbooking goal for this week. This challenge is going to be a 2-part challenge for today and tomorrow. Today I want you to e-mail me pics of your scrap space. Where you scrap and where you store all your scrapbooking treasures. I want pics of what it looks like today, messy or not. Then we are going to organize our spaces, yep, I said it! CLEAN IT UP!!! This is my space. I have a large table that, as you can see, has been being used! I also have both sides of my closet with all my stuff. Pretty messy! Can't wait to tackle that clutter!

The inspiration for today's challenge has come from my friend Jamie who just announced that she is pregnant with her first girl after 4 boys! So, we are going all baby! This is my challenge artwork for challenge #8 using my summer colors red, white and blue. This also happens to be what you will be creating if you sign up for my workshop on May 23rd. 3x3 card box that holds 8 3x3 cards including envelopes. Although I do not remember where I got this template, it did not originate from me. I have had it for a really long time and have used it a ton, but I did not create it. Props to who did because I love it!

Good morning! This challenge that we are going to do today will actually lead into another challenge in the near future so be ready! :) Today I challenge you to take a few pictures. Those pictures that you take today, will be used to complete a layout on a future challenge, so keep that in mind. And they have to be pics that you take today, not ones that you have stored on your camera or sitting somewhere collecting dust! LOL! E-mail me these pics before midnight (mountain standard time) to be put into a drawing for the brand new Foundry Tabs in the CTMH Summer 2009 Idea Book.

Here are a couple of the "way too many" pics I took today to scrap later. This is my cat Jack Rabbit Slim who is just a little over 2 years old. My hubby named him from the movie Pulp Fiction. How often do you scrapbook? Pretty simple, right? If I get at least 5 responses in the comment section of this post, every poster will get a surprise.

I try and scrapbook a little something every single day. Whether it be a whole page or just start a project, I dabble at my craft table every day. As far as really sitting down and completing something, I would say probably once a week. I am lucky enough to have this hobby that is incorporated into my job and so I really have to make time to scrap. Tough, huh? I am also lucky enough to have a space that I can leave a project up and come back to it whenever I have a spare 5 mins and work on it.

Challenge #2 & #3 recap: I was having trouble getting this loaded last night so here it is this morning. My favorite thing to scrapbook is my family. But especially things with me and my husband. I really love to scrap my kids and they are the subjects that I am frequently scrapping, but there are so few times when it is just me and Ryan and that we actually have pics to document make it even more special.
This particular layout was when I was a full loaded 9 months pregnant with Tatum and did not really feel like going out for Valentine'd Day. Ryan surprised me with a lobster dinner right at home. It was the best Valentine's Day ever!

NSM Challenge #4: Create something-anything-using the color combo Smokey Plum, Olive, Creme Brulee and Hollyhock. Use all colors or just a couple in the way of cardstock or inks. You may also include black or white. These particular colors are featured in the new set "Bella" from the CTMH Summer 2009 Idea Book. Have pics to me by midnight tonight pacific standard time. My contribution to this challenge is this title topper using the CTMH May Stamp Of The Month called "Be Yourself". This will eventually make it onto a layout I plan on doing with some facts about me.

NSM Challenge #2 & #3

Here we are day 2 of National Scrapbooking Month and I have to say I am totally motivated to scrap, scrap, scrap! I am leaving to head out of town in about 10 mins and will not be back until tomorrow night. I am going to meet up with my pal in California to......... SCRAPBOOK! LOL!

Okay, so I am going to leave you a 2-day, 2-part challenge. Get your responses to me by midnight pacific standard time on Sunday via e-mail and you will receive a prize. No drawing this time! The prize is a page kit and everyone who completes this challenge will receive the prize. The kit includes all materials to complete one 2-page layout, even an instruction sheet to show you exactly how to put this layout together. You must complete both parts a and b to receive this prize.

a: Loved the responses yesterday in regards to how you got started scrapbooking. Thank you! I would like to know this time what is your favorite thing to scrapbook and why? It could be your kids, your dog, vacations......anything, I just want to know what it is and why?

b: Complete a layout of those favorite things. A complete layout (journaling and pics) on your favorite thing to scrap. For example, if your favorite thing to scrap is your kids, do a layout of them at the park, etc. Or if it is your pets, do a layout of the adorable pics of your pets. E-mail me your final pictures of your layouts. I can't wait to see them!

Hello! I bet you totally thought that I ditched this thing, huh? No way! Just taking a little break to get organized and make some additions to my beloved blog. You will begin noticing some new things on my blog today and in the days to come if you have not already. I hope that my blog makes it into your daily computer routine and I see you here often! LOL! :)

Lots of things happening today- May 1st! Today is "the" day for the brand new CTMH Summer 2009 Idea Book. It is amazing and I can't wait to start getting some fun things made with all the new goodies! You can view the new Idea Book by clicking on the image to the right and going to "Products" from the CTMH website. Or you can request your copy by contacting me.

Another exciting thing that is happening starting today is the celebration of National Scrapbooking Month! Quite a few things going on with this party this month so you will not want to miss anything. First thing is that you will notice that there is a CTMH National Scrapbooking Month Button to the right. This month you can enter your artwork for chances to win prizes. You can also view the Tickled Pink Kit that is offered as this month's Constant Campaign.

NSM Challenges!!!! For each day during the month of May I will be presenting a National Scrapbooking Month Challenge for even more chances to win prizes. All you have to do is complete the challenge and get me your results via e-mail. You will have until Midnight (Pacific Standard Time) of the day the challenge was presented to get in your entries. NSM Challenge #1: Tell me how you got started in scrapbooking/card making/papercrafting. All entries for today will go into a drawing for an Emporium My Stickease Assortment.

I got started in this wonderful hobby from both my grandma and my Aunt Shari. My grandma would create scrapbooks with me when I would come over for visits with her. We would cut out images from cards that we had received and pictures from calendars and compile notes and letters as well. It was a lot of fun for me to get to do that with her. As I got older that fizzled out and we did other things together. But the hobby got picked back up for me when my Aunt Shari, who used to be a Creative Memories consultant, got me an album along with a few getting started supplies for my birthday. I loved it! I was newly married at the time and thought what a perfect opportunity to get going in this again. That was almost 13 years ago and I have not looked back since. I am not only doing a hobby that I truly enjoy, but I am leaving behind the reminders of those memories that we once shared as a family as well as the memories of who we were.

Spring Banner

Sorry it took me so long to get this posted, I have been really sick. This is this month's workshop, Spring Banner. The first picture is of the whole banner on my outside bench. The second 2 are some close ups of individual letters. This fits right in with my Easter decorations, but can be left up all season.

Spectacular Spreads

This is the layout that will be featured in my "Spectacular Spreads" class. I am definitely feeling the need for spring and really wanted to scrap these pictures. These pictures are Callie's first real feel of the grass. She pulled up her feet and hands and was going to do anything not to touch that grass! I love the little things, the everyday moments with my kiddos!

I really enjoyed making these cards, they were a bit outside of the box for me and I love that. I can see myself making many more of these in the future.

This layout is one of my favorites for many reasons. I very rarely do single page layouts and that is something that I have challenged myself to do. There also are not very many pictures taken of me and my wonderful hubby taken together. Another reason is that I really liked using the different shaped paper. It makes me think outside of the box, that is for sure!

Recipe Book

I am participating in a circle journal group (so fun!) and finally remembered to take a picture of one that I completed. This one is from Amy and hers is a "Just Desserts" recipe book.

This one was really fun doing because her album is an acrylic album, the first one like it in our group. It was nice to get to try something new and I love the colors and papers she chose as her theme. I just may have to copy this the next go round! :)

Sorry, pics are super great!

This layout was actually one that I scraplifted from someone else. It was a sample made by an employee from the Scrapbook Station in Rocklin. I loved this layout so much I bought all the supplies and made one for myself. So far for 2009, I have been catching up on alot of older photos that I have yet to scrapbook. The kids really love looking back at when they were younger and are excited that I have been pulling out the "old" photos to scrap.

This page was done using the "Key To My Heart" constant campaign from Close To My Heart. I love this set. The papers are amazingly beautiful and the stamps very versatile. Off to make more with this set, just thought that I would post a layout of my cutie Callie Bear when she was 3 years old.

Fearless Living

I am hooked on circle journals! I am joined by a group of my bestest friends and we all participate in this swap. A circle journal is a themed album. You decide what theme you would like and create your album around that theme. You then pass it off to the next player in line and they create a layout that goes in your album created around your theme. Each person does this making it a "circle" of passing and creating. I am hooked on circle journals! This is the third round with this same group of ladies. This journal happens to be mine.

This is the title page of my album stating my theme: "Fearless Living- If fear was removed from your life what would you do?" I found this topic online when I googled circle journals. There are so many possibilities.

The instruction pages. This page tells of any special instructions I may have for you to consider such as certain supplies or what to include on your page.

The sign in page. Everyone who completes a layout signs their name on this page.

My layout. This is a few of the things that I would do if fear were not a factor. When I receive this back after everyone has completed it, there will be a page for each person who participated.

Halloween Decor

This picture is a little hard to see the detail of but I used some of the items that I am offering in my kit of the month for October. I used just a little of what is offered in this kit and there is so much leftover to make even more Halloween goodies.

The kit featured this month is a Halloween accordian piece for your Halloween decor. Perfect Day Layouts

Here is a little artwork using one of the paper packs from Close To My Heart. This one is called Perfect Day and I am liking it more and more. It is using 3 out of 4 of the new colors that were introduced in the new catalog. These layouts are made from the Workshops On the Go samples that are shown on the CTMH website. I have been wanting to seperate my family blog with my creative stuff on my blog for awhile now but have just been putting it off. Well, when my good friend Amy (who happened to add another beautiful child to her already 2) was able to find the time to seperate her blogs, I felt a bit lazy. So in my desperate attempt to show that I really am on top of things (haha) I decided to take the plunge and do the same.
